VIDEO!
The original Swish is about the basic principles of the Swish
Method and what it takes to achieve great, pure shooting. It's
a simple-yet-profound introduction to a powerful way to shoot
a basketball. Kids, parents and coaches can watch it and come
to understand the principles they need to practice and master
to improve shooting skill.
Both the tape and DVD version of Swish include the 35-page "Swish
Workbook" (the text of the video, word-for-word) plus the
2-page take-to-the-court "Shooting Guide." Note the
Workbook is also included as a PDF on the Swish DVD disc. Some
catalog companies (e.g. Amazon.com) and libraries offer only
the DVD disc and don't include the printed Workbook. For such
orders, use a computer to access and print out the PDF Workbook.

If you can only afford one video, get Swish
2 (see next), as it's a more complete and thorough presentation
of this way of shooting. But Swish, the original, is SO effective,
especially for younger kids, that we recommend strongly you get
it, too, for just an additional $15, with no extra for shipping.
It's worth that, many times over! Swish can be watched in the
beginning and then occasionally for the simple wisdom it offers.
Swish 2, meanwhile, can be viewed over and over and over, it's
so rich with information and extraordinary demonstrations by
players, not just the coach.

Description of the Video/DVD
Why is this Video/DVD different?
You might be asking what is different about
the Swish Method from the other shooting methods out there. How
can it make a difference in your shooting and coaching?
In a few words, it focuses on how to
fly a basketball consistently and accurately to a target.
Less emphasis is spent on the static Fundamentals -- how to stand,
what to look at, how to hold the ball, how to set yourself, how
to release the ball, etc. Though those subjects are addressed,
the emphasis in Swish is to reveal a very simple and powerful
method anyone can understand and learn. Results are immediate
and it works for everyone!
These presentations are mostly about a simple, physical technique
that leads to great control over ball flight. In Swish, you'll
get the basic understandings of the method and come to understand
what's needed for Accuracy, Consistency and Repeatability. Jump
shots and free throws have the same basic motion and there's
a helpful checklist for free throws. Tom also spends some time
talking about the mental aspects of great shooting. A six minute
Bonus Section of shooting clips at the end shows very powerfully
how simple and universal the Method is. It's most "encouraging,"
as one parent put it.
Swish 2
is the practical "Application" of the Method and takes
it to a deeper level, discussing and demonstrating the simple
steps to learning (also called "Self" Coaching) OR
coaching the Method to others. It's two hours long and shows
what's needed to be an extraordinary, "always on, rarely
off" shooter. A section on Learning and Coaching principles
discusses how we are all "geniuses" at learning, and
how we just have to get our potential unblocked and terrific
learning can take place.
