Kate Starbird, Seattle, Washington

Kate started playing basketball at 7 years of age. She continued to play basketball, along with several other sports, throughout her childhood. During high school, she set the Washington State girls high school scoring record and earned a college scholarship to Stanford University, where she received two All-America awards and the Naismith Player of the Year award (during her senior season). She went on to play 12 professional seasons, 2 in the ABL, 5 in the WNBA, and 5 overseas. She still has the Stanford single-season and career scoring records. Throughout her career, she played the "2", the shooting guard position.
